Full body paint strip on a 1960s classic car completed without panel distortion or abrasion damage, ready for bare metal restoration.
A classic car restorer needed to strip a 1960s British sports car to bare metal for a full restoration. Previous attempts with chemical strippers had left residue in seams and the client was concerned about panel distortion from heat or abrasion methods.
We treated the complete bodyshell with our pulsed fibre laser, removing all paint layers including primer to bare metal. The laser was calibrated to avoid heat build-up in the thin steel panels, and we were able to access all seams, shut lines and complex curves that chemical or abrasive methods cannot reach.
Complete paint removal to bare metal with no panel distortion, no abrasion damage and no chemical residue. All seams and shut lines fully cleaned. Client reported the best bare metal result they had seen in 20 years of restoration work.
